CONCEPT + METHOD

Crystal Shards is an interactive browser-based flocking study in which small directional fragments continually gather, separate and reform. Four live parameters expose the system as artistic material: movement speed changes its tempo; connection limits alter the visible social structure; density reshapes the field; and trail length determines how long earlier motion remains present. The pointer introduces a temporary disturbance, allowing the viewer to interrupt the composition and watch it reorganise. Developed as an AIM3193 teaching demo, the work shows how a web-based final project can be presented directly within a student portfolio while retaining clear documentation of its controls, references and human–AI production process.
